White buffalo Woman by Dr Carla Godddard

The White Buffalo Woman is told of in the story of Black Elk’s The Sacred Pipe.

It is said that she reminds the peoples of the intricate web of life that we are all apart of.  It is the White Buffalo Woman who reminds us that everything in life is sacred.  That we must remember to have reverence for all things – big and small – to navigate through these ‘new golden age’times.  Within her spirit we are reminded of the need that we remain in a good relationship to all things and all beings –to All Our Relations.

This intricate web of life is the law of Oneness.  We are All connected to All things.  The Oneness that the White Buffalo Woman speaks of represents the circle of life – a Sacred Life – that is all people, all animals, all plants, all of the star realms, and even the ones who came before us.  We are all part of this Sacred Life.

The White Buffalo Woman is a mysterious woman that appeared in the desert to the Lakota people according to the story told.  For most, she is an Elder Sister who is calling all people to hear her voice whispering – calling to each of us to remember the Sacred Life.

Each soul will heed her call and answer it in individual ways. The songs are the melodies that answer the unknowing questions with the ancient truths long forgotten.  The ancient teachings of these truths are to be embodied as living tradition and not something to simply be studied.  The ancient truths are universal for all people. The White Buffalo Woman came to the Lakota’s but the Elder Sister speaks to all people.

The basis of the ancient teachings is to return our attention to the Sacred Life.  The reverence to the web of life that interconnects all things as One. Sacredness is not simply holding a figure head of a religion as Almighty.  Sacredness is having awarenessto all things in everyday life.  The story reminds us that we need remember that it is not only to one another that we need be reverent, but to our Mother Earth and all her creatures.

The Feminine Energies through Shakti nurture and renew our own energies so that we, as woman, can nurture and renew the energies of all creation is symbolized through the story of the White Buffalo Woman. Within each person is the living flame of Eternal Love.  This eternal flame brings the consciousness and awareness of the Divine spirit of Love. It is to be respected and honored for the power it contains.  It is through this connectedness of theEternal Flame that the Divine can guide each of us.

It is through this Eternal Flame of Love that we create the dance of complete unification.  It can heal the separation and duality that exists.  It is when this dance of complete unification that we emerge into the Golden Age.
